The latest iOS update, 16.1, has fixed a high-severity bug that would have given hackers full access to iPhone devices. According to independent security researcher Sean Wright, this vulnerability could be exploited remotely by chaining kernel-level vulnerabilities with other flaws, allowing malicious apps to exploit them.

The bug, known as CVE-2022-42827, was being used in real-life attacks and is believed to be targeted at a small number of people, similar to the Pegasus spyware attacks. However, without more information, it's impossible to know for certain who or what group is behind the exploit.
